Keola Racela

Born and raised in Southern California, Keola Racela earned his BA from the university of Southern California Santa Cruz in Film and Digital Media. Before entering the  Columbia University MFA Film Program Keola worked as Media Director at Youth Rights Media, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering at risk youth through documentary filmmaking and organizing campaigns aimed at policy change.


Prior to attending Columbia, Keola had never directed a narrative film. His 2013 film "Above the Sea" won the Columbia University Big Beach Best Director Award, a National Board of Review student grant, the Woodstock Film Festival Best Student Short Award, and the Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors Foundation First Place Gold Circle Award.

Producer & Co-Writer

Sarah Oh

Sarah Oh is a MFA candidate in Creative Producing at Columbia University.  She has produced 12 short films during her first year at Columbia and is currently under development and preproduction of five short films this year. 

 

Some of the films she produced has travelled around the world at film festivals like Hampton International Film Festivals, Brooklyn Film Festival, and Asiana International Film Festival. 

 

 

Cinematographer

John Wakayama Carey

John Wakayama Carey is a New York City based cinematographer who recently received his MFA from Columbia University.  While attending school he lensed over 40 short films in 8 different countries, many which have screened at festivals around the world. 

 

John also has shot various campaigns for Adidas Originals and finished two features in 2013.
